Behind the Protobooth

We made an animated GIF photobooth for our holiday party @DigitalKitchen Seattle.

Nerdy details:
A button linked to the MAKE controller triggers a MaxMSP patch across 3 MacBook Pros that fires 3 cameras simultaneously. The images are then saved to a networked HDD, stitched together using Automator, and a photoshop action droplet runs a filter and saves a GIF.

The GIFs are then projected for everyone to see using a custom slideshow with candystriping, built in Flash.

As for the set, we built it to be destructible. The set was made from cardboard, cotton, and tape. And we also made a dozen or so props: giant axe, beards, crystals, etc.
